1 – Sarah Palin has a 5-week texting affair with Shawn in early 2009. She uses every trick in the book to manipulate Shawn for her bidding, just as any other child sex predator would.
2 – Sarah works with the Anchorage FBI and the US Attorney’s Office in Alaska to make it look like Shawn is traveling back and forth from Pennsylvania to Alaska in an attempt to stalk Sarah, family, and friends. This goes on for 4 months and finally the PA State Troopers show up at our house and let Craig and I know what is going on. The US Capitol Police and the Secret Service are also involved. They learn that the information they received on Shawn being in Alaska is untrue as they witnessed him at home with us the whole time, and they start looking into Alaska’s plan of entrapment against Shawn. The Secret Service asks us if we would be willing to have Shawn seen by a psychiatrist to make sure that he would be able to testify in court if need be. We agreed and took Shawn for an evaluation on July 3, 2009. Shortly after we left the psychiatrists office, Sarah Palin suddenly and unexpectedly makes a mad rush to gather people together for a news conference and announces that she will be leaving the Governor’s office.
3 – Sarah and her BFF Kristan Cole file for protective orders against Shawn in September 2010. Both of these ladies perjured themselves in their statements. They said that Shawn bought a gun to go to Alaska with and that he sent a receipt to prove it. The receipt that Shawn sent was the receipt for when he SOLD the gun. Accompanying this receipt, Shawn also included a letter which stated that he sold the gun (he sold the gun 6 months prior to the protective orders being filed), because if he ever went to Alaska in the future, he did not want to be deemed a threat.
The day of the court hearing which would decide if the 20-day orders should be extended to 6-month orders, the court was supposed to call Shawn so he could appear telephonically. Shawn did not receive a call from the court. The court later said that they did not have a phone number to reach him on. Clearly neither the court staff or Judge Suzanne Cole read the evidence supplied in the protective orders, as Shawn’s phone number was clearly listed in court evidence on Kristan Cole’s Exhibit # 102. The lawyers who represented Palin were Thomas Van Flein and Monique Renner.
4 – In February 2011, Shawn flew to Alaska for the week-end to do an interview with Heather Resz from the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman. He arrived there Friday evening and met with Ms. Resz for several hours on Saturday afternoon at a restaurant in Anchorage. That evening, Shawn was visited in his hotel room by 3 officers of the Anchorage Police Department. The purpose of their visit was because they received reports that Shawn was running around in Wasilla. After discovering that it was impossible for this to have occurred in the time frame that he was accused of being in Wasilla, the officers left without incident. Less than a month later,
Sarah Palin’s parents Chuck and Sally Heath did an interview with the BBC News reporter Jackie Long. In this interview, they lied and accused Shawn of being arrested by the FBI and sent home when he was in Alaska for the interview. The Anchorage FBI, AK State Troopers and the Anchorage Police Department all made statements denying the allegations by the Heath’s. These statements were published thanks to Politico’s Ben Smith.http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0311/FBI_No_arrest_in_Palin_stalker_case.html
5 – Sarah Palin, along with her father Chuck Heath, give a copy (not an original) of a threat letter to Sarah’s attorney John Tiemessen. On April 6, 2011, Tiemessen turns it over to the Anchorage FBI and accuses Shawn of sending the letter. The following day, April 7th, Tiemessen calls Shawn and tries to extort him into silence about the sexting affair with Sarah. Then on April 8th, Tiemessen uses this letter as evidence to gain a new protective order for Sarah without any proof that Shawn was the sender of the letter. This makes national and world news and Shawn ends up losing his job the same day the story appeared in our local newspaper. With the loss of his job, he also lost his truck and his plans to start his life.
6 – Since protective orders are civil cases, you cannot be granted legal counsel by a public defender so Shawn was forced to represent himself pro se and act as his own attorney. Shawn entered legal motions in an effort to fight the second protective order against him from Sarah. Shawn even tried to reconcile the entire situation with Sarah and John Tiemessen to no avail. Tiemessen would either abuse Shawn when he accepted his calls, or he would not take his calls at all, nor return any of Shawn’s phone messages. When Shawn pressed the issue for Tiemessen to produce the threat letter he was accused of sending, he was arrested for harassing phone calls. Tiemessen gets an order from the court for written only contact AFTER Shawn was indicted. Shawn had every legal right to call as I stated in my previous post. *Note: Shawn was cleared of ever sending the threat letter.
7 – After being arrested, Shawn is sent for multiple psychological evaluations, 6 in all, and is found to be quite sane. Shawn is then extremely over-sentenced. (More on this in an upcoming post). A first time offender with a charge of harassing telephone calls, normally has the sentenced lowered from a Class E Felony to a Misdemeanor which carries 6 months probation. Shawn received 5 years probation, 6 months in a half-way house and is ordered to pay $ 15,010.00 in restitution and undergo more psychological counseling. That’s not counting the 9 months he spent in jail waiting for the sentencing hearing and spending 40+ hours on Con-Air flying around the country.
8 – When Shawn was in jail in October of 2011, Sarah Palin had John Tiemessen file yet another restraining order on Shawn, Case # 3AN-11-03295CI (You can look this up on the Alaska Court View site). This is the first time I have ever heard of a person file a restraining order on someone who was in jail. How can that person be considered a danger when they are locked up behind bars? It would seem that with the paranoia that Saran and Tiemessen have, they are in need of some good psychological evaluations.
9 – After being released from jail and spending several weeks at home, Shawn reports to the Catholic Social Services Half-Way House in Scranton PA to serve his 6-month sentence there. While living there, Shawn is complying with all the rules including finding employment. The half-way house is infested with bed bugs and Shawn is bitten severely, sometimes having as many as 300 bites on him at a time. Even though the residents of the facility are forced to pay 25% of their gross wages to the half-way house, the facility is not providing enough food for the residents. They are supposed to be provided food and safe and humane living conditions. After Craig and I started filing complaints with various agencies concerning these conditions, the staff at the half-way house take it out on Shawn. He gets into an argument with them about it, then leaves the half-way house. He walks around town and comes back to the facility but in doing this he violates his probation.
While Shawn was residing at the half-way house, we were being lied to by Judge Burgess and the US Probation Office in Alaska. They were telling the Probation Office in Pennsylvania that Shawn was under the custody of the BOP (Bureau of Prisons) while he was in the half-way house. This was done so that the BOP or the Probation Officers would think the other was in charge. Basically, no one was taking responsibility for Shawn, everyone was saying that someone else was responsible. When Shawn was in the half-way house, he was denied the ability to receive treatment for his chronic Lyme disease, and was denied access to other previously scheduled doctor’s appointments. If the BOP or the USPO’s did not know who was really in charge of Shawn, no one could be blamed for not allowing him access to medical treatment, etc.
10 – Shawn’s probation was revoked because of the argument he had with the half-way house regarding the living conditions. He was sent back to Alaska for sentencing. While at the ACC (Anchorage Correctional Complex), he was denied medical treatment for his chronic Lyme disease. Because of this he has lost over 40 pounds during his stay at the ACC. The US Marshals tried to help Shawn but Judge Burgess will not force the doctors there to provide him with proper medical treatment. The only thing that Burgess does for Shawn is to once again, continue to over-sentence him. Shawn’s charges are a Grade C violation, in which usually a probationer receives a written warning from his probation officer for the first offense. Shawn’s sentence for this is 24 months in jail with time he already served. No time credit was given for the 4 ½ months he served in the half-way house. He also received 1 year of supervised release. Shawn’s other charge was impeding a Federal Officer. This is a misdemeanor which usually comes with 6 months probation. Shawn’s sentence for this is 5 years probation!
In closing I would like to add a few things. When Shawn felt that he was guilty of doing something wrong back in June of 2009, he went to Washington DC and surrendered himself to the US Capitol Police at their headquarters. He was never charged by the Capitol Police, Secret Service or the FBI because he had been taunted into his actions by Federal and State officials from Alaska. Shawn was not guilty of sexting with an adult, for he was only 17 at the time and a minor. The criminal here was the adult predator, Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska. Shawn’s only mistake was getting involved with texting someone he really didn’t know.
None of this would be happening if Shawn had not answered that first text he received from Sarah. Now Shawn is caught up in a world where the land of justice ends and the land of politics begins. The pillars of our community who are supposed to protect us all, now have turned on Shawn to protect their careers and keep themselves from going to prison. This is all because they came to the aid of the former Governor of Alaska, who at the time, might have been headed to the White House in the future. Maybe these pillars thought Sarah would take them along for the ride. Now that Sarah’s career is a mere shadow of what it was, these pillars run and hide to protect themselves and the secrets of their crimes, at Shawn’s expense. It is easy to see now why Shawn, who only wants to live a quiet life, help other people and animals, is so angry. Why is it so hard for Sarah Palin, John Tiemessen, and Judge Burgess to understand this? Shawn deserves the same justice that anyone would get if a crime was committed against them.
I think Molly Hatchet says it best:
